‘‘The beauty is that Cooperative Learning works in any institution, in any subject and requires no change to lesson plans, curricullum or materials. Use it five minutes a week, and you have gained.’’

Muslim Faculty of Advanced Studies

Research consultant to Muslim think-tank

The Muslim Faculty of Advanced Studies is an academic fellowship organisation engaged in study, teaching and research to bring new perspectives to academics and policy makers.

Drawing from the rich Islamic educational heritage to contribute positively to the current crisis in education, this research project explores the uncritical adoption by Muslim governments and Muslim minority schools in the West of dominant trends in Western education; in particular, the challenges and opportunities of the student-centred classroom and its inherent social constructivism fundamentally re-framing of the concepts of authority, truth and the role of the individual.

Rashidun Supplementary Schools

Professional tools for community-driven education projects

Rashidun is a supplementary Islamic education project providing a balanced perspective of Islam and high aspirations in future studies.

Werdelin Education has tailored a combination of 21st century British Muslim and CL Skils & Mastery to facilitate these goals to Ofsted standards.

Cooperative Learning is ideal for community-based education projects because it allows NQTs to deliver an traditonal values curriculum using effective, engaging student-centred learning.

Furthermore, the ongoing interaction and negotiation forms an ideal theatre to train both higher level thinking and tarbiyya (character development).

We are proud to help Rashidun create "young people who are thinkers and doers and to create a better and more vibrant community for the future." (Rashidun)
